'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal have become many people's preferred choice to claim the Premier League during this term.

Consider their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have overcome all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Backline

Arsenal's backline resilience is a crucial element why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title target.

They stand first for unbreached games (6), goals allowed (3), attempts against (72), shots on target faced (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but opposition teams still struggle to contain the Gunners from these situations.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Title Claims

What is particularly notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors are struggling. This marks the initial occasion at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having spent around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far yielded results in style, with his side second top scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with belief and determination.
